How to make Kale Chips
2 min readHealthy, crunchy, delicious baked snack recipe made from kale chips.
Makes 3 cups
Ingredients for coating :
6 bunches of kale leaves
1.5 tablespoons chickpea flour
1 teaspoon salt (Himalayan)
2 teaspoons red chilli powder
1 teaspoon pure sesame oil
1/2 tsp asafetida (hing)
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
Ingredients for dressing:
Nutritional yeast
Roasted sesame seeds
Process: First wash the Kale properly with cold water and wrap it tightly in a cotton cloth for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl mix the remaining ingredients of coating and around 1 tablespoon water. Whisk well into smooth paste.
Preheat the oven on 325F. Remove the Kale from the cotton cloth and wipe any remaining moisture. Pull leaves from the Kale leaving any hard stems behind.
Add the paste to the leaves and mix it with the leaves making sure to evenly coat the leaves.
Line parchment paper on a baking tray and place kale leaves on it keeping them 1 inch apart . Bake on 325 F for 15 minutes until the Kale turs crispy.
Empty the crispy kale chips in a bowl and while they are hot sprinkle some nutritional yeast and roasted sesame seeds for additional flavor. Serve them crispy.
Note: If the kale don’t turn crispy in 15 minutes then you may lower the temperature for 5 minutes on 300 F . Do no let the kale get burnt.
